The "Love and Passion" for Painting

Art is about the experiences of artists, thoughts on art, and inspiration to create them. They encourage, motivate, inspire, uplift, and stimulate creativity.

One Masterpiece
Today I take privilege to write a short article about an artist who took up painting as a hobby and now a successful artist within her city. Mrs. Savita Chengappa, hailing from Kodagu district in Karnataka she is known for her beautiful paintings (which includes, oil paintings, acrylic, pencil sketch, glass paintings, bottle paintings, and so on).

Since childhood, I had no formal painting training but art classes in high school by Sr. Gretta, which fascinated me to take up painting as a hobby even though I did not have much flare during those days. Later on, after her wedding, she wanted to distinguish some of her hobbies as she did not want to sit idle at home. She started of painting birds and bananas. She continued her artistic skills with replicating one of the paintings from her brothers’ house than in Somwarpet taluk, Coovercolly estate.

She reminisce about her 1st pregnancy. "Due to lack of sleep I spent time painting a woman from 12.30 AM - 4.30 AM". She carried on with her work of art by painting different descriptions where she also bagged a prize for a “Crying Boy” where she had exhibited her paintings during Kodava Mela in Madikeri

She has exhibited her paintings in various parts of Coorg and got recognition through few regional newspapers. She has also exhibited her paintings during Kannada Rajyotsav Day in Virajpet, ten years back.

Her self-discovery for painting bought her success. She is one of the amazing artist I have come across who professed her hobby and also got a great support from her family.

As my artist’s statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance” - Calvin
